Introduction to Computers

Microsoft® Excel
Learn the basics of Excel, the electronic spreadsheet software in the Microsoft package. You will learn Excel terminology, how to use toolbars, sort data, insert formulas, create charts, graphs and much more.

Microsoft® Office Skills
You will be introduced to the basic office skills required to enter the busi­ness office environment. The course will cover word processing skills using Microsoft® Word, e-mail and keeping an online calendar. There will be a brief introduction to Microsoft Excel® and Microsoft ®PowerPoint. Each session will begin with a 1/2 hour of keyboarding practice. This course fulfills the Health Claims Specialist requirement and is open to all others.

Microsoft® Word & Touch Typing
The first ½ hour will be devoted to learning to touch type. Either brush up on your skills or try it for the first time.  This will be followed by an introductory course in Microsoft® Word. Topics range from copy & paste, saving & printing files, finding files, and insetting graphics into documents.

AutoCAD Basics
This course will teach you the basics of AutoCAD 2010.  You will learn how to create and format industry standard 2D drawings.  This is a good course for the beginner, someone looking for a good refresher course or an experienced user looking to increase their AutoCAD proficiency.

PC Specialist / A+ Certification Exam Preparation
This is an intensive classroom instruction and hands-on course.  It is designed to provide the technical skills required to prepare for the A+ Certification exam and to prepare for an entry level position in the Computer Support Field.  It will cover both the hardware and software components. Some employment opportunities are: PC Support Specialist, Technical Support Specialist, Help Desk Associate, PC Repair Technician and others.

QuickBooks User Certification Course
This course is designed to address the basic functions of bookkeeping using QuickBooks Pro for Windows with the goal of passing the exam to become a Certified QuickBooks User. QuickBooks Pro is the most widely used accounting software for small and medium sized businesses. If your company is using QuickBooks but you are not sure if you are using it correctly or if you are an individual concerned that you may need this training to compete in the current job market then this course is for you. In this hand-on course you will learn the proper set up of your company file, the work flow, how to create transactions for account payable and receivable, and how to work with general ledger accounts. You will also learn how to use lists, reports and financial data. The optional certification exam will be administered in the classroom the last night of this course for an additional exam fee.  Prerequisite:  A basic understanding of computers and how to use them

Introduction to Digital Photography & Photoshop
This course will introduce you to the world of digital photography. Learn ba­sic digital photography techniques to take great pictures. Learn photo edit­ing techniques to create amazing photographs from your snapshots. We will examine both hardware and software. This course includes creating, edit­ing, and fixing digital photos, sharing images on the web, applying amazing special effects, etc. No digital camera is required; in fact, this course would be a good course to take before you purchase. Already have one, come learn to take advantage of its features. Course includes one field trip on the weekend to do a photo shoot.
